Ecovillages: Beyond Stereotypes - Social Innovation
This is the third event of the Ecovillages: Beyond Stereotypes series. At this even we focus specifically on the rich social experimentation that has taken place in the world of eco-communities. Many eco-communities have started out as social experiments and by virtue of this fact many of them have undertaken efforts to self-organize democratically in some way or another. This will the theme of this event.
In at this event we look at the different ways at which communities employ strategies to self-organize. We dive into questions such as 'What are alternative ways to make decision in groups and organizations other than the widely accepted hierarchical and democratic models we know nowadays?' 'To what extend are communities capable of organizing themselves to cater for the needs of its own members?
If the program proves succesful we will continue to facilitate more activities that focus on eco communities and transition to a more sustainable society!
This will be the fourth of six events in which Otherwise will be exploring the theme of Eco-communities in relation to social innovation and environmental resilience.
The event will take place in THUIS, Stationsstraat 32 Wageningen and will take place in English!
