Join us for the immersive ecosystem restoration course to learn techniques of afforestation, water retention and off-grid living that can help reversing the effects of agricultural revolution 12-15,000 years ago and unsustainable practices that lead to loss of fertile land, flooding, landslides and desertificaion
Sustainable development - how can you contribute?
"Goal 15.3: By 2030, combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and strive to achieve a land-degradation-neutral world."
The landscape restoration and off-grid living course creates a healthy balance between practical hands-on activities in the morning, interesting theoretical elements in the afternoon, and a wide range of recreational activities in the evening. All these experiences and insights can be applied in the optional second week in a final design assignment.
The course will take place at Sunseed Desert Technology - a community-led educational centre for the transition towards sustainability in Andalusia, Spain. Project's aim is to realise, demonstrate and communicate appropriate and low-technology solutions that support a low-impact lifestyle. This includes fighting desertification - a major challenge not only in their region.
