Sound workshop
Re-imagination workshop on sound
Let us go on a soundwalk. Take our ears for a walk. Wait for a second. Close our eyes and listen. To open our imagination.
„When you take your ears for a soundwalk, you are both audience and performer in a concert of sound that occurs continually around you. By walking you are able to enter into a conversation with the landscape” (World Soundscape Project).
We live in a world of sound, but our ears are couch potatoes. From the church bells and market vendors announcing: “Mango, 2 euro!”, to the sounds of birds and the ongoing flow of Rhine. Wageningen is full of sounds. Tuning into this world of sound comes with a bunch of surprises and shows us the hidden aspects of our everyday environment.
During this sound workshop we experiment with different sonic methods and practices that help us move beyond conventional ways of listening. Attentive listening is an alternative pathway to relate to our environment. Listening connects us with places, builds environmental and social awareness and can promote changes in social and cultural practices.
This sound workshop takes place at ecovillage Ppauw. There will be two rounds of small groups: from 14.00-15.30 and from 16.00-17.30. Sign up here! https://forms.gle/a7bx71b5ZmWpYc1K7
